Our Testimonials

WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY

Simon, United Kingdom

A beautiful gem of a hotel, nestled in the shadow of a giant boulder, with a great view of the monastery. We loved the pool, and our room was fantastic, with a spectacular little balcony overlooking the pool and hillside. The outdoor restaurant was lovely and atmospheric, and breakfast was excellent.

Marje, United Kingdom

I stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed each luxurious moment. The staff are attentive but unobtrusive, the colourful and well kept gardens a delight and the tasteful decor and surroundings soothing. The setting is unique with jaw-dropping views from the roof terraces and tasteful decor and beautiful artifacts in hidden corners. The town walk is a unique and life-affirming experience. Thank You.

Great mix of heritage, luxury, comfort, wildlife and nature. The location is very private, when u reach there it feels like you have unfolded a beautiful secret. We had totally hassle free check- in, we experiences a truly royal treatment at this property. The staff was exceptionally polite, warm and welcoming. Considering the property is hidden deep in a tiny rajasthan village, their facilities and services were outstanding. The food was very delicious, all though the menu is not very elaborate but, everything we ordered for was absolutely yummy! The jungle jeep safari was truly an experience we went for leopard sighting and managed to see one as well. Everything was personalised and gave us an royal experience indeed. We look forward to visiting this place again, definitely!

Mark, United Kingdom

This hotel is a little gem. It is set in a small village, surrounded by stunning scenery. The Hotel offers the opportunity to view Leopards, have a conducted tour around the village, have tea by the lake and enjoy dinner by a stunning step well. We did all of these and loved every minute. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful in everything. The food was fantastic; well prepared and delicious. Our room was stunning. It was in an older part of the hotel with fantastic decor and total privacy. It was immaculately clean and well presented. Sitting my the swimming pool you can see the Stone White Elephant from the film Darjeeling Limited; whilst it is a climb of over 700 steps it is a fantastic spot to watch the sun go down. Overall a fantastic hotel, one which we will visit again.

I found it a great place to relax and read. We stayed in Room 10 which has adjoining room 9, which was the original bedroom of the Maharaja. It still has the original frescos on the walls and was like walking back in history. I got some candles and lit all the little alcoves and it looked beautiful. Outside we had a huge mattress (day bed) where we were able to lie and read and take in the view of the mountain. On dusk, monkeys came and sat on the walls.

We loved this place! Great room, great facilities, and great opportunities to explore the local surroundings. We unfortunately only spent one night there, would have loved two of three. We should have cut out time in the big cities to spend time here. A great location, away from the big cities. The village where this hotel is located was wonderful to walk around in on our own.

Alissa, USA

Beautiful, relaxing grounds and room. Very pleasant and extremely helpful staff. Excellent shower and nice toiletries.

Rawla Narlai is an amazing place to stay in a picturesque setting. Incredibly well managed with dignified staff, this was a highlight of our trip to India. The Village walk with Ram is definitely worth doing as was the leopard safari – we saw one but even if we hadn’t, exploring the surrounding countryside with such wonderful guides was an experience in itself. We stayed two nights and can thoroughly recommend this beautiful property.

Kim, Australia

The staff and manager were outstanding in delivering excellent service-I could not find any fault in this amazing hotel. They took us on morning and early evening safaris and we saw many bird and animal species including a leopard and her three Cubs both times-our guides were passionate and very experienced in tracking the leopards. The poolside service and food was outstanding as was the restaurant in the evening.

This was always meant to be our little bit of luxury on our trip and it didn’t disappoint. We spent 3 nights in the new building on the top floor (room 122) and it was all we could wish for… private, quiet, perfectly furnished and a great view from a large balcony. We could not fault anything other than the WiFi – the service, the room, the food, everything was perfect. At night it was beautifully lit with pretty lights, candles and several wood fires. I know other guests enjoyed the authenticity of the old original rooms and whilst they did have an olde worlde charm we would have found them too dark – personal preference. We weren’t in the best of health and the bright room helped a lot. We didn’t feel well enough to go on the safari but those who did saw leopards. We did our own self-guided walks around the lake, the village and up elephant hill, all of which were enjoyable.
